We are looking for a talented Chemical Engineer to support the R&D and Applications staff as we scale up new product and process designs from the inception phase, through research and optimization, and into client startup and support.
Responsibilities
In this role you can expect to:
- Develop formulas, processes, and methods for solving complex mass transfer problems using CFD, process simulation, and other mathematical software
- Lead the design and operation of scale-up experiments including design of experiments, selection and commissioning of process setups, statistical analysis of results, and effective documentation and presentation of learnings to the business
- Work closely with laboratory scientists, commercial and marketing representatives, and manufacturing teams to drive a wide range of innovations to market
- Identify gaps in existing technology and operations to create new opportunities for strategically broadening the portfolio and improving products
- Contribute to intellectual property generation, including the writing and filing of patents
- Continuously improve all chemical processes and products
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge and experience of fluid mechanics, mass transfer, and heat transfer
- Simulation experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years relevant experience in a research and development environment
- Experience with process simulation and computational fluid dynamics software desired
- Experience with separation technology such as membranes or extractions a plus
- Scale-up experience for chemical processes from bench to pilot to field desired

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of lab and safety procedures and protocols
- Experience with chemical processing
