Lab Technician

We are seeking a Lab Technician to support our broad research portfolio by working within a talented team of chemists and research engineers.

Job Summary:  The Lab Technician will work with VFT Chemists to conduct chemical tests, review, and report results from samples generated by technical staff. Responsible for maintaining and organizing laboratory equipment and facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  may include any or all the following:

  • Conduct physical and chemical testing of in-process and final product samples following established protocols.
  • Perform routine inventory checks and maintain working inventory.
  • Practice good housekeeping of the laboratory.
  • Produce accurate records and data for R&D projects.
  • Follow company-required safety and training program.
  • Work with mechanical hand tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High-School or associate degree in a technical field preferred with background knowledge of chemistry.
  • BS in Chemistry or related field with background knowledge of chemistry is a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience working in a chemical or medical laboratory is preferred.
  • Well organized with laboratory safety and experimental recordkeeping documentation.
  • Experience with analytical instruments preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of laboratory and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Initiative-taking, purposeful, and collaborative.
  • Eager to learn new things and willing to take on responsibility.
